Air conditioning equipment and maintenance
Air conditioning now plays a crucial role in the smooth operation of business premises. Modern systems provide not only cooling, but heating, humidity control and air quality. All these factors are fundamental in providing an effective and efficient working environment. It is therefore vital that your equipment is operating at peak efficiency at all times.
Daikin Applied Service offer planned preventative maintenance contracts to suit your business and make sure you get the best from your system. It is proven that maintenance not only keeps your system running efficiently but also extends its lifecycle.
We can provide contracts tailored to your individual needs and also fully manage your obligations under the F-Gas regulations. All our engineers are fully qualified and we are committed to high quality and safety in all our operating environments.
We offer full nationwide 24 hour 7 days a week cover on all manufacturers’ equipment from our Southern, Midlands and Northern Offices.
F-gas Regulation compliance check
Make sure your equipment is in linewith the EU regulation
Reduce the environmental impact of your equipment
Since your HVAC-R equipment contains fluorinated greenhouse gases (F-gases) such as hydrofluorocarbons (HFCs), you
must comply with a series of requirements adopted in the European Union to ensure emission prevention and containment; and hence reduce the environmental impact of refrigerants.
F-gas Regulation (EU) No 517/2014
- Puts in place mandatory measures to reduce F-gas emissions in the EU.
- One of these measures is the prevention of emissions of F-gases by conducting periodical checks, proper servicing and recovery of these gases at the end of the equipment’s life.
Why conduct F-gas leak checks?
HVAC-R equipment that contains fluorinated greenhouse gases in quantities of 5 tonnes of CO2 equivalent or more must be checked for F-gas leakage by certified personnel only.
During these checks, precautionary measures are taken to prevent leakages.
In case a leak is detected, it is repaired without undue delay.
How often to conduct leak checks?
The frequency of your equipment’s leak inspections depends on its F-gas charge size measured in CO2 equivalents as shown in the table.
The installation of a leakage detection system is mandatory for equipment that contains 500 t CO2 or more. The proper functioning of the system should be checked at least once every 12 months.
If the equipment has a leakage detection system, the required frequency of leak checks is reduced by half.
We manage your F-gas requirements so that you don’t have to
All commercial, industrial and public sector organisations must comply with obligations under the government’s environmental policy on F-Gas and Ozone-Depleting Substances.
Our certified technicians can help you carry out different tasks such as regular leak checks, installation of leakage detection systems and diligent on-site record keeping with supporting templates. As well as recovery and/or destruction of gases before the equipment is discarded.
You can also combine the required F-gas inspections with one of our service plans.
